The Myanmar Government Requests Compassion and Assistance in Creating a Democratic and Federal Union

July 15, 2023

In a statement to the press, Myanmar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs requests international support and understanding as the government works to establish a democratic and federal union. The statement emphasizes the government’s dedication to the three pillars of power enshrined in the State Constitution (2008) and its efforts to pursue legal action against those convicted of committing offences or terrorist acts. Through a five-point road map, inclusive political processes, and peace negotiations with Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs), the State Administration Council (SAC) is committed to achieving the aspirations of the people of Myanmar. Myanmar’s Ministry for Peace, Stability, and Development desires international cooperation to ensure peace, stability, and development in Myanmar.
