Nepal’s ambassador meets with the Alliance of GSP Countries

Ambassador Sridhar Khatri participated in the high-level meeting of the Alliance of Generalized Systems of Preference (GSP) Countries held on February 16th at the Embassy of Argentina in Washington, D.C. The Ambassadors and representatives of 26 countries discussed their request to the US Congress for reauthorization of the GSP preferential market access facilities offered to the Least Developed and Developing Countries. They agreed that joint letters signed by the ambassadors and representatives will be submitted to the Chairman and Ranking Members of the Senate Finance Committee and Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and House Ways and Means Committee and House Foreign Affairs Committee of the US Congress for the renewal of the GSP program. The program expired on December 31, 2020.
