The visit is part of a series of high ranking US officials\u2019 tours to the South Asian country in recent months that heralds an increasingly thawing relationship between the two countries after years of frostiness.<\/p>\n<p>Counselor Chollet discussed a wide range of issues including strengthening economic ties, cooperating to address the impacts of the climate crisis and in the fight against terrorism.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe United States and Pakistan have a robust partnership based on decades of bilateral cooperation and support, and we look forward to strengthening our relationship in trade, investment, climate, clean energy, health, security, education, and other shared priorities,\u201d said Counselor Chollet, according to a State Department release.<\/p>\n<p>Counselor Chollet met with Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, among other high officials, to discuss strengthening the U.S.-Pakistan bilateral partnership, including increased economic cooperation and Pakistan\u2019s needs as it continues to recover and rebuild following the floods.<\/p>\n<div style=\"line-height: 25px;\" align=\"justify\">Before his tour to Islamabad Derek Chollet spent two days in Dhaka where he met with top government officials and journalists.
